April Industry Drop-in Session

CTS Project team has conducted an April drop-in session with industry participants. As we skipped our March session, this combined update focused on important regulatory information and an overview of several key flows planned for the CTS platform and Mobile Application.

DCCEEW Update on CITES and Captive Breeding Permitting

DCCEEW team joined the session to provide an essential update on CITES and Captive Breeding Permitting.

Receive coral

This flow allows the users to receive coral from another facility owned by their participant organisation or register a purchase of tagged coral. By scanning tagged specimen arriving at their facility, industry participants can quickly update the location and ownership of specimen that are already registered in the CTS.

Breed coral

This flow is focused on capturing sexual reproduction of coral in captivity.  Within this flow, industry participants can register a spawning batch (e.g. settlement plate) linking parents to an interim batch used to grow out the recruits. At a later stage when ready, the same flow can be used to record transfer of recruits from the settlement plate to individually tagged plugs.

Update coral

This flow allows users to update coral including capturing evidence of growth, and update the inventory status.  Inventory status update allows industry participants to remove coral from active inventory due to mortality (and provide a mortality reason), domestic sale or use in conservation.

Create Order

This flow is focussed on the ability of fishers to create an order (consignment) and specify products that were ordered by a buyer. This flow is used as a starting point prior to specific specimen being packed using the mobile application.

View specimen

Provides users with a way to scan and view the traceability journey of a specific specimen and edit submitted data if permissioned.

Generate SER

This flow is focussed on the ability of fishers to generate an SER and download/print it using a pre-defined format suitable for printing on existing SER numbered blanks.

What's next?

The CTS team will continue to refine and validate the solution, while preparing for the industry pilot in June/July.
