Individual usage, may be monitored as part of the Department’s Information Security Strategy. Disciplinary and or criminal sanctions may apply for misuse or unauthorised use.

Any data collected, from the monitored use of the system, may be analysed as part of internal integrity investigations in accordance with the Australian Government’s Protective Security Policy Framework.

Note that usage logs, data and personal information may be provided to authorised Agencies investigating such uses.

All activity undertaken using a particular login name is considered to have been undertaken by the individual assigned that login name.

Your personal information will be managed in accordance with the department’s Privacy Policy, which contains information about accessing and correcting personal information, and how to make a complaint.

Your data may be used to:

1. enable the Department or the National EPA to monitor regulated wildlife trade (i.e. individual business trade); and
2. evidence compliance with an approved:
   1. captive breeding program
   2. wildlife trade operation approval; and/or
   3. wildlife trade management plan.

as administered in accordance with the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (Cth) (the EPBC Act), the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Regulations 2025 (Cth) and the Environment Protection Reform Legislation Amendment (Consequential Amendments) Regulations 2026.
